Silesia and Sudetenland home resort antoniow

For almost everybody there are plenty of possibilities to find something for outdoor recreation in the direct vicinity of the resort. Depending on the season you can enjoy (Nordic) walking, horse riding, skiing, biking, hiking, searching for mountain minerals, go to a museum or visit a castle. Whether you are at your own or with a group, with or without a guide.
Jelenia Góra is the larger place in the direct vicinity (15 min.) of Antoniow, it has a pittoresk centre and is a very popular centre for tourists. But in about 2 hours you can be also in Prague , Krakow, Dresden or Wroclaw . Inside the resort you will find an information file with all kind of info e.g. detailed walking / biking maps and info for destinations a bit further away.

 


Various tourist sites/ guides do give a rather good impression of places worth seeing. In the Capitool Travelling Guide for Poland more than 30 pages describe this region. Not to mention the many Internet sites for this region.

Silesia in a nutshel

Sudetenland is part of Silesia, it is the catchment basin of the Oder with Wroclaw (former Breslau ) as the largest town in this region.
The mountains here are older than the Carpathian Mountains and are rich of minerals.
There is a wide variety in the landscape here from slightly inclined to steep rock formation, deep riverbeds with some waterfalls.
Going higher you may discover a kind of glacier type of landscape with mountain lakes and crater like valleys.
At summertime ideal for walking or hiking and in the winter season a good place for skiing.
Walkers can stay overnight in special mountain cottages.
The highest mountain ranges are the Giant Mountains , the Sniezka (Snow head) comes to 1600 meter.
Popular tourist centres here are Szklarska Poreba en Karpacz.
In this region you will find quite some castles and ruins and most of them can be visited.
Museums can be found in Jelenia Góra, Cieplice and Wroclaw .
In Wroclaw there is also a Zoo.

In about 2 hours you can be also in Prague , Krakow, Dresden or Wroclaw :
